Raindrops & Tears

raindrops
or
tears
they all fall the same
since you left
the sound remains

quiet
and
alone
walking the street
all that i hear
is my heartbeat

afraid
and
cold
you not in sight
just my imagination
under the street lights

Happy Haunting....

Tonight after work me and about 10 coworkers went to Applebee's and then to the Baxter Ave. Morgue in Louisville. We had a blast. I was nervous and scared the entire time...right up until we got in the door. After that, it was so FUN! I promise. Just be prepared, they can touch you.

Totally worth the $15.00 admission.

Check it out at.... http://13bats.com/indexfl2.html.

Jake the Turkey

We have a "pet" well...sorta.

At work for about 4 months now, we've had a visitor. He is huge and loves to set off car alarms in the parking lot. He is not afraid of anyone or anything.

Just wanted to share some pics of Jake!

www.coolquiz.com

I love riddles & trivia - can you guess this one?

As I walked along the path I saw something with four fingers and one thumb, but it was not flesh, fish, bone or fowl.

Weekend Wonders

Friday - whoo hoo!!! Jean day at work. It's pretty bad when you live for "Jean Day". Frank sent me flowers to work for our anniversary on Sunday - 13 years. The flowers are beautiful. After work we took the CUBS to the Shelby Co. game. It's little league night...they wore their jerseys and got to walk out on the field as they announced each team. The kids just think that was the coolest thing. Shelby Co. won 60-40 - it was a great game! After that we went to see Frank's mom at Shell and we won $100 on a scratch off ticket...too cool.

Saturday - I've cleaned the house & did laundry - when I noticed that the dryer is not heating up at all...PROBLEM! HELP! Frank is at guard drill so I'll have to wait. Talked to Patrick for awhile on the phone & Karen.

We (me, Frank, Karen, Patrick) went to a bonfire. A friend from work is having a bonfire/haunted hayride to benefit MS. We had a great time! Chili, Hot Dogs, Drinks, Smores, - great job guys! We had a BLAST!!!

Sunday - 13th Anniversary for me & Frank - wow...that's a long time! And it's Game Day! We won 30-0...now the tournament begins next week.

It's been a pretty nice weekend so far...have fun & enjoy the sweater weather.

Autumn...it's the most wonderful time of the year.

What is it about Autumn that makes me shiver with excitment? Why do I enjoy every leave that falls? What is it about pumpkins that make me giddy?

I love this time of year. Everything about it. The beautiful leaves, the apple cider, pumpkin spice, fresh air, football, and sweater weather.

So, I've started writing poetry again. I've been writing since jr.high - on and off. Recently, I've been jotting down notes so I thought I'd share something.

Daydreaming
*all peaceful and teasing
Confusion
*my lifes' overflowing
Your Eyes
*sleepless and gripping
The Dream
*never ceasing but slipping
The question
*real or musing

Update on Deputy Paul Dugle

Today Paul woke up talking.

Megan (his wife) came into the room this morning and held the phone (with her mom on the other end) up to Paul's ear and told him to tell her mom HELLO - and he did!!! And he just kept talking. He is talking to everyone. He knows who everyone is. This is super exciting! I just knew this day would come. This from a man that the doctors did not believe he would ever wake up (and wanted to pull the plug on him)...this from a man that had ZERO brain activity. God is good.

The bracelets that I ordered to raise money for him & his family came in. They are going like crazy. I love them. Just simple yellow silicone bracelets that say DEPUTY PAUL DUGLE #34.

Today was the golf-scramble to raise money for Paul & his family. I think the total raised was $3,000! Which is amazing. The sheriff dept. even bought him a brand new 2006 cruiser with his # already on it...just waiting until the day that he is back patroling our streets.

Today is Friday the 13th.
Today is Paul Dugle Day in the state of Kentucky.
Today Paul woke up and is talking.
Today is a good day.
Today I feel blessed.

Sometimes....

This layout was a breakthrough for me.

Silly? Maybe.
Heartfelt? Totally.

Sometimes scrapbooking is totally my stress outlet. A place where I can be truthful to myself. A place where my hands are not tied. A place to be happy. As I looked at this photo of me, I can see my frustration, my attitude, and my fear.

I just wanted to share it and maybe inspire you to look at yourself with truthful eyes and an open heart.

Well, I'm headed to Parkersburg, WV!

Shawn, Lisa, and I head out tomorrow morning to a new state, a new adventure, and some serious scrapping!

We are going to GET CRAFTY STUDIOS! You can check them out online at www.getcraftystudios.com. I won a weekend package, back in the spring and thought that this Autumn would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful trees, and the changing of the seasons that WV would bring. I'm sure it's going to be a beautiful drive.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Busy Weekend....but super FUN!

The new OCTOBER issue for the studio is here - www.thescrappingstudio.com!

Well, Friday we took our little leagers to see Facing the Giants! What an amazing movie! I suggest you see it ASAP!

Saturday I spent the day with my Momma! (Love you!) We had fun, just hanging out, scrapping, laughing, checking out the Elsie challenge. She has a new puppy, Daisy. She is so cute - 1/2 begal 1/2 lab...black, and full of energy!
I have a new little sister.

Saturday night, Frank & I went to see Justin play - they won! He is such a super cool kid. We went out to eat to Tumbleweed after the game with some friends and some of the players. Had my usual - yummy chicken burrito plain. Justin went home with us & he and Bubba played playstation until the wee-hours of the morning.

That meant, I was stuck trying to get Justin up for church on Sunday morning. We made it just in time. After church, me & Justin grabbed Zaxby's and then went to the CUB game - where we won 28-7 - and our COLTS also won (just pulled though and beat the Jets).

Super fun - football weekend!
